Sondotécnica is founded by engineer Jaime Rotstein with a vision to become a powerhouse of ideas driving progress.
Contributes to the studies for the Brazil–Paraguay International Bridge, later known as the Friendship Bridge.
Contributes to the construction of Brasília, conducting studies, designing, and executing the foundations of more than 100 buildings—including the BNDES building—in Brazil’s future capital, which was inaugurated in 1960.
Designs and supervises the implementation of Section 2 of the Rio de Janeiro Metro.
Develops the National Irrigation Plan, which becomes a key reference for the preparation, evaluation, and presentation of studies and projects for agricultural water development in Brazil.
Designs and supervises approximately one-third (330 km) of the Carajás Railway, including the initial section approaching the Port of São Luís, Maranhão.
Designs and supervises construction of the Samuel Hydroelectric Power Plant, in Rondônia, and the Manso Hydroelectric Power Plant, in Mato Grosso. Sondotécnica becomes a publicly traded company, with its shares traded on BM&F Bovespa under the ticker symbol SOND.
Undertakes its first project in Angola, developing the plan for the Luanda Water Supply System.
Begins work on Peru’s Basic Sanitation Program.
Develops the spillway design to operate following the closure of the diversion tunnel for the Capanda Hydroelectric Development.
Undertakes its first project in the Dominican Republic with the Northwest Aqueduct Expansion, followed by the Samaná Aqueduct.
Develops the engineering design for Lot E of Phase 1 of the São Francisco River Integration Project and supervises construction across two major sections of the project’s Northern Axis.
Provides engineering design and construction supervision for the Rodoanel, one of São Paulo’s most important infrastructure projects.
Develops engineering design for Brazil’s Submarine Development Program (PROSUB). Also provides design services for the Jurong Shipyard, in Espírito Santo, and the Enseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard, in Bahia, for the construction of drillships and offshore platforms for Petrobras.
Manages engineering processes for the implementation of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system serving Rio de Janeiro’s port and downtown districts.
Provides specialized engineering services for Arteris and ANTT using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, developing designs for highway widening, frontage roads, and interchanges along the BR-116 in Paraná and Santa Catarina.
Develops its first metro project using BIM technology for São Joaquim Station, in São Paulo.
Completes the detailed engineering design for Nimi A Lukeni International Airport, located in M’banza Kongo, Angola.
Develops engineering design for the complementary civil works package for the Angra 3 Nuclear Power Plant.
Develops the basic engineering design for the Vila Madalena–Cerro Corá extension of São Paulo Metro Line 2–Green.
Sondotécnica also inaugurates TechLab, its innovation hub in São Paulo.
Provides project management, construction supervision, and certification services for the implementation of the Salvador LRT system.
Sondotécnica also inaugurates TechLab Lite, extending its innovation ecosystem to Rio de Janeiro.
